About Dr. Wonbin Jung, LMFT

Hey there! I'm Dr. Wonbin, a licensed marriage and family therapist here to help you navigate the ups and downs of emotional and relational well-being. 🌈✨

As a queer, Asian, first-gen immigrant therapist, I get the complexity of holding multiple identities and the intersections that shape who you are. My goal is to create a space where all of you—your experiences, struggles, and victories—are heard and honored.

I see myself as your co-pilot on the journey to self-discovery, self-compassion, and understanding. It's an honor to walk with you as you explore your true self, and I don't take that responsibility lightly.

While I'm trained as a brief systemic therapist (fancy term for spotting the patterns in relationships), at my core, I’m a relational therapist who digs into the stories and connections that shape your world. I’m here to listen, ask the tough questions, and help bring out the hidden parts of your story—those pieces that are often overlooked or silenced. I believe when your story is heard and seen, it can heal and transform.

In traditional therapy spaces, you may have felt like your experiences were reduced to a diagnosis or pathologized. With me, I’ll not only honor your pain, but also celebrate your moments of joy, success, and resilience. It’s about interrupting those negative patterns that keep you stuck and highlighting the strengths that can propel you forward.

Here’s what clients and colleagues say about working with me:

🌸 Kind, compassionate, and non-judgmental
🌟 Thought-provoking and curious
🔒 A safe space for you to show up as you are and grow
💥 Direct and unafraid to go where you want to go

Some of my specialties include:

🌈 Gender, Sexual, and Racial Identity Exploration
🙏 Integrating Faith & Sexuality
🛑 Healing from Religious Trauma & Deconstructing Faith
🧠 Intergenerational Trauma and Asian American Experiences
🌍 Adult Third Culture Kids (growing up between cultures or in a different country)
❤️ Intimacy & Relational Sex Therapy (sex anxiety, rigid scripts, communication struggles)
💬 Navigating Polyamory and Open Relationships
🌈 LGBTQ+ & Asian American Couples (relationship struggles, emotional disconnection, in-law drama)

When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me:

🚣‍♀️ Kayaking or traveling the world with my wife (we’ve lived in Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, and more!)
☕️ Exploring new coffee spots around the Bay Area
🌍 Speaking at conferences on mental health & sexuality
📺 Binge-watching House Hunters International and dreaming about moving abroad

If you're ready to dig deep, find your voice, and embrace your authentic self, I’m here for all of it. Let’s work together to ensure your story is heard, celebrated, and understood. 💖
